Bewleys Hotel

We stayed at the Bewleys Hotel which was nice.  It is somewhat old and right across the street fromt he Four Seasons.  It cost us 99euro for the night.  When we walked into our room we had to put our key into a slot to make the electricity work.  The TV had only a few channels.  We have since been told that basic cable only has 15 channels.  Crazy!!  We watched Britains got talent and they replayed it all night and through the next day.  There was no food network or ESPN. SAD!  Anyway it was nice for the night but we were have anxiety about what the trip was going to hold for us.  We called the other apartment that we were thinking about renting before and they were still available.  They were going to meet us at 9 the next morning and we were very happy to have a new place to stay.  Brad and I couldn't sleep that night.  Some of it was the time change and some was the anxiety. The kids woke up at 3am and I stayed up with them for about an hour. We watched Britains got talent again and they finally went back to sleep.  We had to wake them up the next morning to go to our new home.  For dinner that night we got a pepperoni pizza.  They not only put pepperoni on their pizza but also hot peppers.  Hinton was not to happy about it but we survived our first night in Dublin!

This was a horse statue in front  of the hotel.  We have no idea why it was there or what it was for.  Notice Hinton is still in his jammies.

Finally There...So we thought!

We finally arrived in Dublin.  We took the aircoach from the airport to a stop that was 1/3mile from our new home.  We got off the bus and tied all of our luggage together and below is a picture of how ridiculous we looked or at least a pic of Brad walking through the city with all of our stuff.  We started out going the wrong way but eventually made it to where we were going.
When we got to our apartment this is what we found.  It was not at all what the pictures online had showed.  The kitchen is tiny, the washer and dryer were outside in the alley, the bathroom was scary (according to Hinton who refused to go in it), it was very loud, the TV wasn't working and I wanted to cry.  This is what it was supposed to look like http://dublincityapartments.ie/ballsbridge-apartments We told the landlord that it wasn't what we had expected and showed her the pictures.  She said that it wasn't her aparment and that she had a rental company that she used.  We told her that we had been looking at another apartment but had picked hers based on the pictures and on the location.  So we ended up leaving with all of our stuff again and headed to the nearest hotel.

Atlanta, GA

We made it to Atlanta and the kids did really well on the flight from Orlando.  We got to Atlanta and ran to our next gate.  We had reserved the bassinet seat for Lottie but it was still first come first serve.  I was so anxious to get that seat so that I wouldn't have to hold her for 8 hours in the middle of the night.  We got to the gate and they said that 3 days ago Delta had changed their policy and you had to pay $160 more per person to have that seat.  I have had our reservations since January and no one has said anything about this. I even called the night before we left to make sure I had those seats reserved and they said, "Yes." Why didn't anyone ever say anything about the extra money???  Well of course we didn't purchase those seats but the people at the counter did make sure we had an extra seat for Lottie.  In the end it all worked out.  Lottie and Hinton slept most of the flight.  I slept very little because I can't sleep sitting up but we survived.  I hate Delta though and would recommend not using them for your international flights.  I plan on fighting them on the way back as well.   Maybe I'll get lucky and they'll give me the bassinet!
We were trying to get out all of their energy.  They were having crawling races in their jammies.  People thought we were crazy but they had fun and Lottie was so happy to be on the floor!

Getting Ready to Leave

We were really excited and anxious to get on the plane to Dublin.  Well we had to go to Atlanta first but eventually we were going to Dublin and we couldn't wait!

Ireland Bound!

Tomorrow evening we will be on our way to Ireland!  I am very nervous but excited at the same time.  I have a lot to pack and do before then.  I have been trying to explain to Hinton that we will be gone for an entire month and across the ocean.  He doesn't really it get it.  We will miss all of our family here.  They are such a big help and I don't know what I'm going to do without them while we are over there.  I plan to keep the blog updated while we are away with fun adventures and pictures.  Stay posted, I'm sure there will be some interesting experiences on here (I can't seem to go anywhere without something crazy happening!)
